Hi, I'm Kurt Ljungkvist and I live in Avesta, Sweden with my family. Besides my regular job I do some airbrushing on hobby level. It all started with me spray painting my moped with spraycans. Later on my friends also wanted some. So i bought an airbrush and from there it went on until the 80's when i started to paint fulltime. In 1988 I had to stop working as a carpainter, due to health reasons, but I like custompainting so much that I kept going in a corner of my garage. Just couldn't stay away from the daggerbrushes and my airbrushes. As I don't paint cars anymore, I've specialized in smaller objects as goalie-masks, bikes, mailboxes, electric guitars, detailing on racecars, you name it. Pinstriping is asked for in the line of veteran-car and -mc enthusiasts. One of my objects was a lawnmower, the ”Garden Goblin”. A customer came in with a refrigerator for painting, so the sky is the limit.

1980 and -82, I visited a custom painter in California to get some inspiration and at the same time to steal some ideas, especially in freehand airbrushing. My little hobbyfirm "Kustom Kolors" was established in 1983. In 2004 I visited the US again, to paint a funnycar.

For almost 30 years I've signed my paintjobs with "paint by kurta", so that became the name of my domain too.
